Conway Ranch House

This historic ranch house displays period furnishing. The Conway family operated freight and stage lines between Lundy and Bodie. Richie and Tweed Conway had most recently occupied the home in Bishop for twenty years.

Origin:

The house was originally built by the Shaw Family on their chicken ranch circa 1915.  In 1983, with generous donations, the Conway House was moved from just east of the corner of North Brockman Lane and Highway 395 to its present location at the museum.  Over the years, it has given visitors a glimpse into Owens Valley pioneer life. In 2022 a generous grant from Inyo County along with many donations from museum supporters allowed reroofing and exterior paint.
